This project is an achievement full of challenges as we like at DAWCO. Its goal is to increase production by increasing the available amperage and regulating this new production capacity.
Our approach is to install a new 315 KV/69 KV regulation transformer (T3) as well as a harmonic filter complex (HF1/HF2 and HF5) which will increase the plant’s production capacity to 440 KA. This new addition includes the installation of essential components. These are the gantries that support the power cables, the busbars, the circuit breakers, the supports and the insulators. Each component has its own challenges. All the more so since everything is linked by miles of power and control cables.
In the face of this huge project and despite other challenges related to the current pandemic (supply and specialized manpower), DAWCO’s new team of fitters and electricians dedicated to the substation sector is working hard to make sure the work goes smoothly. It is with confidence that our team is entering the final stretch that will lead us to the full completion of the project.
We note that early last week, our team received congratulations from our client Alcoa following a site inspection visit. We would like to thank the entire team working on this project and wish them all the best!
